  • IF UNDER THE AGE OF 18, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PERMIT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS BEFORE YOU CAN TAKE THE ROAD TEST.
  • A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST SIGN THE PARENTAL CONSENT FORM FOR MINOR APPLICANTS. 
  • THE DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES REQUIRES THAT THE DRIVING TEST IS IN ENGLISH ONLY.  WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY. 
  •  PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO START OF TEST.
*PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ARRIVING LATE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME; HOWEVER, WE WILL MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO TEST YOU THE SAME DAY.  IF YOU CANCEL OR ARE A NO SHOW THERE IS NO REFUND.
  •  Vehicle/Trailer/Motorcycle – Dealership:

      1. Title or Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (MCO) – Provided by Dealer
      2. Include all documents provided by the Dealership & Lender
      3. Fill out Vehicle Transaction Application completely (form 812)
      4. Print, sign and date Vehicle Transaction Application
      5. Copy of current Alaska Driver’s License
      6. Fill out and sign the American Titles LLC Credit Card Agreement

    Vehicle/Trailer/Motorcycle- Private

    1. Title – signed by prior owner in the seller section; signed by you in the buyer’s section; current odometer reading; and date of sale
    2. Include documents provided by Lender if you financed vehicle
    3. Fill out Vehicle Transaction Application completely  (form 812)
    4. Print, sign and date Vehicle Transaction Application
    5. Fill out and sign the American Titles LLC Credit Card  Agreement 
    • License plate or Vehicle Identification Number (Vin).
    • Lien Release Letter if financed.
    • Valid Government issued ID.
    • Lost Title Affidavit (form 809)

    What we need:
  • Alaska requires that a vehicle purchased outside of Alaska receive a 60-day temporary permit while the vehicle is being driven or transported back to Alaska. Once in Alaska, a vehicle inspection is required before you can get your license plates, tags, registration card and title.

  • The permit must be issued to the vehicle owner. 

    * Transporting a non-completed vehicle under construction. 

    * To transport a vehicle for the purpose of inspecting, weighing or meeting other requirements of the Division. 

    * Rebuilding, dismantling or removing the vehicle permanently from the highways, vehicular ways and areas of the state. 

    * Transporting an unladen non-commercial vehicle on a single trip by a noncircular route. Valid up to 20 days. A maximum of three permits allowed per vehicle. 

    * Transporting an unladen commercial vehicle making a single continuous trip by a noncircular route. Valid up to 10 days. 

    What to Bring:

    Proof of ownership. Includes:  Bill of Sale, Registration or Title.

  • Personalized plates must be in the vehicle owners name. The Standard Personalized Plates are available in the following styles.  Allow 12 weeks for delivery.

  • Parking permits or placards can be issued to people who have been medically certified to mobility impairment.

    • Must be signed by a Physician, PA, Podiatrist or Nurse Practitioner

     Renewal-Permanent

    • Application for Special Disability Parking Permit (form 861)
    • Must either be signed by a physician or the individual with the disability must be present with a valid ID. 

    Renewal-Temporary 

    • Application for Special Disability Parking Permit (form 861) must be signed by a physician.  
  • Alaska law states that the information contained in driving records is confidential and private. Therefore, a driving record can only be issued to the following:

    * An individual obtaining their own record;

    * A representative appointed by an individual who submits a Driving Record Release (Form 419) signed by the person granting permission to obtain their record;

    * The individual’s insurance company must attach a copy of the information provided to the business by the driver. The application would be accepted in lieu of Form 419. The insurance company may obtain the record of any person named on the policy even if only one person signed it (2 AAC 90.470);

    * Any law enforcement or governmental agency;

    * The parent, foster parent or guardian of a driver under 18.

    * A signed release is valid for 90 days from the date of signature on release.

There are several reasons why you would want to come to American Titles, LLC.  First of all,  time is a valuable resource therefore it is better to take care of your errands as quickly as possible.   At American Titles LLC, we work around your time.  We do whatever it takes to get you in and out as quickly as possible.  We are a faster service with more convenient hours.  Our hours are from 9 am to 6 pm Tuesday thru Saturday and by appointment only on Mondays.  You are able to drop your off transactions and we will give a call when it is ready to be picked up.  We do vehicle inspections and trailer inspections, which is a service that the DMV in Eagle River does not have. We are a friendly and knowledgeable staff with 13 years work experience with the DMV.
